Clerical staff at 13 secondary schools showcased their incredible holiday spirit this year, competing against each other to see who could create the best holiday display, in our first districtwide Office Decorating Contest.
What started last year as a friendly competition between two offices at Johnston Heights Secondary and Clayton Heights Secondary turned into an all out battle of joy-spreading and holiday fun across the district this year.
In the end, Fraser Heights Secondary (photos above) stood victorious as the overall winner, using Dr. Seuss'
How the Grinch Stole Christmas! as their holiday theme.
"From the window panes, to the great use of lighting, to the Whoville characters seated for dinner, you followed the theme of the traditional Grinch throughout," wrote judges Gloria Sarmento, Cory McLaughlin and Jackie Howard. "Top marks for the various vignettes, the videos playing on the monitors, the decorations throughout and the heartwarming hopeful messages."
Five other secondary schools received honorary mentions for their decorations, ranging from traditional Christmas trees to Hawaiian palm trees!
Other competing secondary schools included Enver Creek, Lord Tweedsmuir, North Surrey, Panorama Ridge, École Salish and Semiahmoo.
Congratulations to all of our well-decorated secondary school offices! Thank you for sharing holiday cheer with your students and staff!
